Abstract
This research was aimed to measure women’s level to the rice field farm, investigate the women’s dominant role for making the decision, calculate the contribution of women’s income to the family income, and analyze the relation between women participation to the rice field farm and the family income. This research was started from October until November 2004. The method which is applied in this research was survey method and simple random sampling is used. The data were gained by means of questionnaire as primary data and secondary data were collected through related institution. The result showed that women participation was high in term of seeding, land preparation, planting, and farm maintenance. Meanwhile, for harvesting still in moderate level. It could be happened because harvesting was done by both (husband and wifej and workers. The rice field farm management decision maker dominantly determine by wife (women) for the seeding, while husband (men) dominantly determine the decision making for land preparation. Both of them dominantly determine the decision making for land preparation activity. About 13,93 % per square land per years or 20,78 % per hectare per years was the contribution given by women as family income. It showed rs count (0,125 %) < rs table (0,305) or Ho received, meaning that there was no correlation between women’s level participation and family income. It happened because rice fleld farm income was less than non farm family income.
