Abstract
Carbon reserves is rice an important assimilation process, including carbon fixation, and carbon estimates. The study aimed at comparing the carbon reserves in rice in the Swamp Land District Tanjung Seteko Ogan Ilir Indralaya and Rambutan Banyuasin South Sumatra. This study was conducted from December 2013 to February 2014. The plant sampling plots was conducted on land owned by local farmers. Samples for analysis were taken at the ages plant of 2-12 weeks (2 weeks interval) with a plot size of 1 m x 1 m consisting of 16 plants (clumps). The analysis was carried out in the Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Fieldwork used a survey method, by sampling each clump of plants in Tanjung Seteko and Rambutan with 4 plot. The results of show each biomass reached Tajnjung Seteko and Rambutan a pot life of 2 weeks (0.486 tons / ha; 0, 312 tons / ha) the biomass of rice continue to increase with ages of the plant up to 12 weeks (4.084 tons / ha; 3.807 tons / ha). The results of these calculations that the rice crop in the Swamp Land Rambutan biomass value higher than the value of biomass to rice in Tanjung Seteko swamp land caused by fertilization performed on the rice crop in the swamp land Rambutan, so the value of biomass and C plants contained in rice plants swamp land Rambutan higher than the rice plant in Tanjung Seteko swamp land.
