Abstract

PT. Adimitra Baratama Nusantara is a company that work in mining sector operating in Kecamatan Sangasanga Kalimantan Timur province. Mining activities carried out using open pit mining method. This method has some drawbacks and risks because coal horizontal sediment which has downward progress direction which will create a big basin. Water will concentrate in the basin and will slowing down the mining activity. The water flow inside main sump which located in elevation +12 mdpl and will be pumped to main drain towards mud sedimentation pool in elevation +52 mdpl, catchment mining area is 112,26 hectare. Sump capacity 10.624 m3 but total flow of water into the mine site is at 30.973,29 m3 / day. Sump water reservoirs which are not able to accommodate the flow of water so that water gets into the mining front. Stagnant water discharge at this time amounted to 82.664,4 m3. Pump system in pit 1 using a pump DnD 200 - 5Hx with the actual discharge is equal to 720 m3 / hour and max flow 828 m3 / hour in pump spesification. Therefore, it is recommended to add one unit of DnD pump 200 - 5 Hx. In addition, the sump must also be enlarged by improving the sump dimension. Sump planned truncated pyramid-shaped with a surface area of 78 x 78 meters, the base area 68 x 68 meters and a depth of 6 meters in order to obtain the sump capacity of 32.024 m3.
