Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan kondisi optimum pengolahan air limbah tekstil menggunakan semikonduktor ZnO yang dimodifikasi dengan senyawa ferit (NiFe 2 O 4 , MnFe 2 O 4 , Fe 3 O 4 ) dengan metode kopresipitasi dan mendapatkan satu nanokomposit dan rasio ZnO:senyawa ferit yang dapat mendegradasi dengan efektif zat warna metilen biru (MB). Adapun variasi rasio mol ZnO:senyawa ferit yaitu 1:0,1; 2:0,1; 3:0,1. Hasil penelitian didapatkan fotokatalis nanokomposit ZnO/NiFe 2 O 4 dengan rasio 2:0,1 (ZNi- 2) yang dapat mendegradasi zat warna metilen biru sebesar 95,2% yang mempunyai ukuran kristal 31,82 nm, luas permukaan 25,246 g 2 /m, celah pita energi (band gap) 2,46 eV, sifat magnet 33,11 emu/gr, waktu kontak 50 menit, pH larutan 7,03. Kinetika reaksi degradasi zat warna MB yaitu sesuai orde satu dengan konstanta laju reaksi 0,0690. Nanokomposit ZnO/NiFe 2 O 4 (2:0,1) efektif digunakan untuk pengolahan air limbah industri tekstil khususnya jumputan. Penggunaan fotokatalis dapat dipakai kembali sebanyak 5x dengan kemampuan degradasi sebesar 89,31%
