Abstract

This research is to describe the role of the leader of farmer group of the activity of vegetable plantation program, to measure the attitude of the farmer group for the program of vegetable plantation and to analize the interrelation between the role of the leader of the farmer group by the attitude of the farmer member in the vegetable plantation program. This research was carried out at Desa Merah Mata Kelurahan Banyuasin Kecamatan Banyuasin 1, Kabupaten Muba ffom March till April 2009 towards the farmers, the members of Sumber Rejeki. The research method used is the case study. The sample of this research used census method towards a member of farmer group of Sumber Rejeki with the member of 20 persons as a case unit. Then primer was gained through direct interview with the member of the farmer used a questioner while the secunder data was gained ffom agriculture Service and take related Service. The data gained in the field was processed tabulary and analized descriptirely. The result of the research indicated that the role of the leader of farmer goup in the vegetable plantation was measured in the basis of the member in the poor criteria while the other 20 members gave the grade of good criteria in the vegetable plantation program. The attitude of the members were measured based on three components namely, knowledge, skill, and attitude in the vegetable plantation program. The average score of the attitude of the member was 12,745 with the fair criteria. Based on the examination in the spearman was gained that the grade R. S hitung was 0,669 and R. S was 0,377. that meant there is a relationship between the leader of farmer group and the attitude of the members in the vegetable plantation program.
