Abstract

The objectives of this research are to measure the motivation of agricultural extension in doing agriculture elucidation, to measure the agricultural extension’s work in doing agriculture elucidation, to analyze the influence of motivation to the agricultural extension’s work in doing elucidation of agriculture. This research is done in North Indralaya district, Ogan Ilir regency. Collecting data is held in November until December 2010. The method that is used in this research is survey with sampling technic, interview the farmers directly under guidance of PPL in North Indralaya district, Ogan Ilir Regency. To take the sample in this research is done by sensus method for 6 PPL persons form 8 villages and 40 sample farmers that used multistage sampling method to the members of farmers. The data are collected in this research consist of primary data and secondary data. Primary data are obtained ffom interview with 40 sample farmers. While secondary data are obtained from many references, subdistrict head office of North Indralaya, statistic Central committee, and others data that support this research. The result of this research to show the motivation of PPL based on need and power still less of knowledge that influence to the farmers, motivation of PPL based friendship and affiliation still less of friendship and affilitoan to the farmers, and motivation based on achievements still less of achievements in solving problem that faced by farmers in doing their work and haven’t consistent and responsible yet in on doing assignment. While for performance show the program of elucidation that made still less based on farmers’ need and do not run well, disiminasi of PPL information in delivering the information and comprehending the material still less in having ability to the disiminasi information, participation farmer in team work run well and independence, farmer process their farm and have good ability, farmer’s partner in matreial and non material less accepted and applied by farmer, and there is no addition of productivity and their eaming after enableness or we can say it is constant Based on result of Chi-square show that influence of motivation to the field agricultural extension (PPL) in doing agriculture elucidation in North Indralaya district, Ogan Ilir regency influence to the perforance of field agricultural extension (PPL).
