Abstract

The purposes of this research are (1). Describing the implementation of agricultural extension activities by PPL at KTM Sungai Rambutan UPT I North Indralaya District Ogan Ilir Regency, (2). Identifying the factors that affect active farmers agricultural extension at KTM Sungai Rambutan UPT I North Indralaya District Ogan Ilir Regency, (3). Identifying the factors that affect inactive farmers agricultural extension at KTM Sungai Rambutan UPT I North Indralaya District Ogan Ilir Regency. This research was implemened at KTM Sungai Rambutan UPT I at October until November 2010. This research used survey. This research used disproportional stratified random sampling method is divided into two layers. The implementation of agricultural extension at KTM Sungai Rambutan UPT I has run well, although there are still farmers who are inactive m this extension. The agricultural extension began from visiting farmers group leader by PPL, in this case to notify or submit about the implementation of agricultural extension activities to be conveyed to other members of farmer groups. After that, the agricultural extension is implemented. Factors affected to active farmers in agricultural extension activities are the experience factor, motivation factor, material factor, reward factor, and relationship factor. The factors affected to inactive in agricultural extension activities are the factor of prejudice, attitude factor, road condition factor, distance factor and time factor.
