Abstract
PT. Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk, Tanjung Enim is a company engaged in coal mining. To ftilfill consumers needs, the coal must be produced in accordance with the demand and the desired prerequisites by consumers. Before doing coal mining activities, the first activity was the stripping of soil cover. To perform the stripping activities there are 3 types of digging tools used are Komatsu excavator backhoe PC800, PCI250 and PC2000. Based on the experience. production targets are always achieved but the use of these three types of excavator still cause losses in the company's loss costs. It is therefore necessary to select an economical excavator for overburden disassembly by comparing the production of each excavator to the cost of each excavator so as to reduce the losses incurred. After the calculation of the production and cost of each type of tools, the result we got that the production within a month for PC800 is 324.664,20 bcm / month, productivity for PCI250 is 470.024,10 bcm / month and PC2000 productivity is 568.858,60 bcm / month. The monthly fee for PC800 is $ 117.652,50, the cost for PCI250 is $ 154.967,40 and the cost for PC2000 is $ 268.480.80. After obtaining total productivity and cost in time for a month can be made comparison between cost and productivity of each type of excavator so that obtained result for PC800 is $ 0,36 / bcm, PCI250 equal to $ 0,33 / bcm and PC2000 equal to $ 0.47 / bcm . From the results of the comparison obtained then it can be concluded the selection of excavator backhoe PCI250 more economical than PC800 and PC2000 in the case of overburden disassembly.
