Abstract

Global prevalence of malnutrition and malnutrition is 13%. The toddler period is a period of formation and development, this age is a vulnerable age because toddlers are very sensitive to growth disturbances. At this age, toddlers are usually very physically active and require adequate nutrition both in quantity and quality. A critical period can occur if at this age toddlers do not get enough food to meet their nutritional needs, which can cause delays in toddler growth and development. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the nutritional status of children aged 2-5 years. This research is a quantitative research with analytic observational method and cross sectional design. Respondents totaled 60 people selected by purposive sampling technique. Data were processed using statistical tests and univariate and bivariate analysis was carried out. The results of the analysis stated that there was no relationship between mother's nutritional knowledge (p = 0.276), mother's education (p = 1.000), toddler's age (p = 0.332), toddler's gender (p = 0.283), toddler's food intake (p = 0.333), history of infectious diseases under five (p = 0.719), family income with nutritional status under five (p = 0.253). The conclusion of this study is that there is no relationship between the level of knowledge of mother's nutrition, mother's education, age of the toddler, sex of the toddler, food intake of the toddler, history of the toddler's infectious disease and family income with the nutritional status of the toddler
