Abstract
The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of foliar fertilization the growth and yield of pakchoy (Brassica chinensis L). The research was conducted ffom July to August 2005 at green house of Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Inderalaya. The experimental design was Randomized Block Design with three replications and four treatments which were P0 (without foliar fertilization), P1 (Pocnasa), P2 (Greener) and P3 (Bayfolan). The results showed that foliar fertilization had significant effect on plant height, leaf number, plant fresh weight, and leaf area. Foliar fertilization also significantly affected stem and leaf fresh weight, but had no significant effect on root fresh weight and leaf chlorophyll on content. Application of foliar fertilizer could increase the growth and yield of pakchoy in aerophonic system. Plants which were given foliar fertilizer had fresh weight about 5,22% - 22,50% higher than plants without foliar fertilizer. Among the three foliar fertilizers used in this research, Bayfolan generally had the best effect on the growth and yield of pakchoy.
