Abstract
The aim of this research was to know optimum combination of Knops and soybean immersion liquid by-product which gave the highest Chlorella pyrenoidosa cell density. This research has been conducted from 6 until 20 of August 2007 in Aquaculture Microbiology Laboratory, Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This current research was conducted in order to obtain the maximum density, and maximum growth rate of Chlorella pyrenoidosa as well as its water quality. This research found out the 100% of soybean immersion liquid by-product usulted in maximum cell density (2,997 x 108 cells), maximum growth rate (178,60%/day) the water quality in this treatmant showed that temperature is 28°C, pH is 6,5 and ammonia concentration decrease ffom 3,3 mg/1 to 0,726 mg/l.
