Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk Unit Pelabuhan Tarahan commonly abbreviated PTBA Tarahan is one company that supplies coal to the power plant Tarahan. The process of coal supply PTBA Tarahan this through the facilities of Coal Handling Facility (CHF) such as conveyor transported from the stockpile 3 using a bulldozer. Bulldozer used for transporting is considered less effective because the distance to one carrier too far plus cost of great use. Through this assessment the author slarted assessing the appropriate tool to replace the bulldozer in transporting coal from the stockpile 3 to CHF. The method used to assess the election in the form of a mechanical device using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) assessment tool and supporting data that w/7/ be replaced by alternative means such as wheel loader, back hoe and dump truck combination and the combination of wheel loader and dump truck. Alternative selection tool s were selecled based o n c r iteria established by the experts who have various interests in order to achieve maximum results. These criteria form of productivity, uptime and operating costs where these criteria give more weight will be an influence in the choice of alternative means want selected. Based on the calculation of cycle time, opera t ion fund and credit determination by experts in supporting unit of PTBA Tarahan operaion ,it was then chosen the combination of wheel loader with load and carty method.
