Abstract

Urban traffic congestion is a major issue in road network development. The solution to overcome congestion is through the construction of flyovers and underpasses, but these projects are complex and come with inherent risks. Work safety is crucial, especially in large-scale flyover projects. In the case of the Sekip Ujung intersection flyover project, the sustainability of accident trends and project complexity necessitate a risk analysis. This research aims to analyze and identify risks, as well as propose risk mitigation efforts for the project. The study employs a quantitative approach, collecting primary data through questionnaires and interviews, and secondary data from previous research. Subsequently, the data is processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS. The research findings indicate the identification of 65 accident risks, all of which fall into the moderate risk category. Risk evaluation reveals 5 dominant factors with a risk index of 9, namely the risk of damage to office/project buildings due to natural disasters, damage to office equipment due to natural disasters, falling from height during scaffolding installation, scaffolding collapse during excavation, and traffic accidents during drainage work. Risk control efforts include mandating the use of standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on the type of work being conducted. Additionally, appropriate regulations, regular scheduling, technical controls aligned with the work, and insurance coverage for involved workers are implemented.
