Abstract

Mango is a seasonal fruit crop that generally grows as an annual plant. This means that this plant requires a certain period of time to produce fruit and in its growth cycle experiences flowering and fruiting seasons. Mango has the scientific name "Mangifera indica" which means mango fruit originating from India and belongs to the Anacardiaceae family. Insecta or insects are the most dominant animal species among other animal species in the phylum Arthopoda. Insecta have common characteristics such as a segmented body, hard exoskeleton, and six jointed legs. PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) is one of the companies located in Lampung Province, precisely in Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung Regency. This research was conducted from September to October 2023 in the mango planting area at PT Great Giant Pineapple, Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. The research method used was a bottle trap containing 90% alcohol, molasses bottle, Yellow Sticky Trap and molasses trap. The whole trap was allowed to stand for 2 days (48 hours). Insect collection was carried out at 08.00-10.00 WIB. The insects obtained were taken directly and put into zip plastic and then taken to the laboratory for observation. The results of this study showed that the insects obtained consisted of 5 orders and 17 genus where the dominating order was Coleoptera consisting of 8 genus. The four traps set have different insect diversity indices. Yellow Sticky Trap, Alcohol Bottle Trap, Molasses Bottle Trap have a medium diversity index. While Molasses trap has a low diversity index. Of the four traps, the most insects obtained were from the genus Drosophila with the species Drosophila sp. The total number of species was 6819. Traps that get a lot of Drosophila sp. are molasses traps and molasses trap bottles because molasses is sugar cane droplets that have a high content of sugar compounds, ranging from 50 - 65% in the form of thick liquid and dark brown in color which makes this fly will comes
