Abstract
This research focuses on the forms and impacts of toxic relationships as well as the reasons why Sriwijaya University students maintain toxic relationships. The aim of this research is to analyze and understand the Toxic Relationship Phenomenon in Dating Sriwijaya University Students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study research strategy. This research uses Max Weber's Social Action theory. Data was obtained from 9 main informants using data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results of the research show that 1. The forms of toxic relationships experienced by victims of toxic relationships in dating among Sriwijaya University students are first, psychological (mental) violence, physical violence, sexual violence and economic violence. 2. The impact of Toxic Relationships experienced by victims of Toxic Relationships in dating Sriwijaya University students is that there are psychological, physical, sexual and social impacts. 3. The reason behind Sriwijaya University students continuing to maintain toxic relationships is surviving because of love and believing their partner will change, surviving because of dependency and surviving because of threats.
