Abstract

Stunting is a global problem that impacts the future of the nation. The prevalence of stunting in Ogan Ilir Regency is still relatively high at 24.9%. Access to health services and environmental factors are part of the indirect factors of stunting. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution pattern of stunting incidence based on the distribution of health facilities and analyse the correlation of environmental risk factors with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in 9 Lokus Villages in Ogan Ilir Regency. The research design was a case control ratio of 1: 2 with a total sample of 201 respondents taken by purposive random sampling. Data analysis used spatial analysis of overlay and buffering methods as well as Pearson correlation test and Spearman's correlation test. Most cases form a group distribution pattern and have been <2KM from health facilities. Variables that have an association with stunting cases in toddlers are house lighting (p-value=0.037; r=0.147) and house temperature (p-value=0.05; r=0.138) with very low strength of association. The variables of TDS, turbidity, temperature, salinity, pH, DHL, Zing, Chloride, Fe, Mn, residential density, humidity and percentage of ventilation have no relationship with stunting cases in the 9 locus villages of Ogan Ilir Regency in 2023. It is concluded that the majority of stunting cases have been reached by health facilities and environmental risk factors that have a correlation with stunting cases are lighting and house temperature. To reduce the incidence of stunting in toddlers, it is recommended to utilise existing health facilities through regular visits and create environmental conditions that encourage optimal growth of toddlers.
