Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam (Persero). Tbk is one of the coal mining company located in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra. The mining system which is implemented by PT. Bukit Asam (Persero). Tbk is open pit mining methods of surface mining system. The activities t ha t are being performed at each of the working area start from land clearing as the initial stage, ripping/blasling, digging, loading, hauling and up the coal stockpiling. In the coal haulage process from mining site to stockpile 02, PT. Bukit Asam (Persero). Tbk uses belt conveyor to Muara Tiga Besar (MTB) area and dump trucks for Tambang A ir Laya (TAL) area. The use ofbelt conveyor will highly affect the delivery produclion target and coal loading to railroad cars. Therefore, it is necessary to study the productivity of the belt conveyor itself so the efficient time for coal loading to railroad cars can be known. From the observations, it can be obtained that the feeding production number at the feeder is 1596.69 tons/hour, and the production ofbelt conveyor is 1563,12 tons/hour. As for the obtained the value ofits compatibility (matchfactor) is 0.97, which means that the production of belt conveyor is smaller than the feeding process at the feeder, resulting in a shortage of feeding production to the belt conveyor and time delay in railroad carriages loading. In this case, the feeding is done by stacking (coal being dropped from the top belt) and apron feeder (coal being pushed by bulldozer).
