Abstract

Spontaneous Combustion is a problem in the mining industry, one of the causes Spontaneous Combustion are intrinsic and extrinsic factors of coal. Intrinsic factor that is characteristic of coal while extrinsic, extemal factors affecting coal. One of the extrinsic factor is the speed of the wind in the conditions of coal and coal stockpile management. The wind speed will affect the rate of oxidation of the coal in the process Spontaneous Combustion. Process research on the effect of wind speed Spontaneous Combustion performed at the laboratory scale coal using coal PT. Bukit Asam with brand BA63; BA61 and BA59. Based on the research showed that the effect of the wind will cause the coal to experience Spontaneous Combustion at low temperature, while there was no effect on wind conditions Spontaneous Combustion occur but at a much higher temperature than Spontaneous Combustion naturally. The influence of the intrinsic characteristics of coal to Spontaneous Combustion consists of several factors, namely the content of volatile matter, moisture content, ash content, mineral matter and coal calories. Based the value of the transition temperature, the transition temperature value of coal BA-61 <BA-59 <BA-63 so it can be concluded that coal is more reactive BA-61 had Spontaneous Combustion in certain circumstances. It caused Volatile matter content of the coal in large BA61. Statistically, it appears that the data can be distributed in normal and R and R2 values approaching 1 To speed conditions no wind in the coal is a linear regression formula, while no effect of wind speed conditions that hit coal cubic formulation is nonlinear regression. Based on the F test and t-test, the obtained regression model can be used.
