Abstract

The objectives of the study was to investigate the factors of Areal, productivity of wet land paddy and rice price performance in South Sumatera Province. The research was used secondary data fforn any resource that correlate with the wet land paddy production in South Sumatera Province. Data that used was time series data of 1987-2002. Data intended was performance of Areal, productivity, production of wet land paddy, paddy price, fertilizer price, maize price, the real of minimum fee, rate of interest, rainfall, resident earnings, sum up resident, demand of rice quantity, rice import quantity, rice stock quantity and foreign currency rate (US$) in South Sumatera Province. The research was analysed with three stage least square (3-SLS) method. Every equations and variables that specified configure in a econometric model and investigated by SAS Program Aplication v6.12. 1996. The results showed that the Areal of wet land paddy influenced by price of paddy, price of nitrit fertilizer, price of phosphate fertilizer, price of maize, real minimum fee and ratio of interest rate with the lag of interest rate. Productivity of wet land paddy influenced by difference ratio of nitrit fertilizer price with it’s lag, ratio of phospate fertilizer’s price with it’s lag. Price of rice in South Sumatera influenced by different of rice production with it’s lag, different of rice demand with it’s lag and exchange rate of US dollar. For made the rice policy on increasing of production and rice price policy, that factors needs to considering of govemment as rice policy maker to reach household food security objectives.
