Abstract

Healthy visits can reduce the risk of complications in people with Diabetes Mellitus and minimize the burden of health financing. The utilization of sick visits still outweighs healthy visits in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the demographic and socioeconomic factors associated with the utilization of healthy visits in by Diabetes Mellitus patients Indonesia. This research was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional study design using secondary data from BPJS Kesehatan 2021. The sample in this study were JKN participants who had Diabetes Mellitus as many as 655,201 respondents. This study used logistic regression statistical tests. The results in this study showed that the utilization of healthy visits was 21,7% in Indonesia. Bivariate analysis showed that variables associated with the utilization of health visits by Diabetes Mellitus in Indonesia were age (P-value 0,0089), gender (P-value 0,0498), participant segmentation (P-value 0,0000), location (0,0000), and region (P-value 0,0000) while marital status was not associated with the utilization of healthy visits (P-value 0,2722). Multivariate analysis showed that location was the dominant factor (OR = 1,944; 95% CI = 1,869 – 2,022), where patients in urban areas were 1,972 times more likely to utilize the healthy visits. Location has the most influence on the utilization of healthy visits. Strengthening the role and ability of health cadres as health information connectors in rural areas through training can be one of the efforts to increase the utilization of healthy visits by Diabetes Mellitus patients.
