Abstract

Metode penambangan yang diterapkan PT. Bukit Asam adalah metode strip mine, hal ini disebabkan karena batubara merupakan endapan horizontal dimana arah kemajuan tambang adalah ke arah bawah dan akan terbentuk cekungan besar. Air akan terkonsentrasi di dalam cekungan tersebut dan akan menghambat aktivitas penambangan . Air yang masuk ke lokasi penambangan sebagian besar berasal dari air hujan, untuk mengatasinya dilakukan dengan penirisan. Untuk perencanaan drainase tahun 2011, curah hujan yang direncanakan adalah 486.552mm/bulan dan catchment areanya adalah 5.393.700 m . Berdasarkan perhitungan head total masing-masing pompa yang yang terjadi antara 108 - 120 m pada jalur main sump utara ke petruk dengan daya hidrolik 231 Hp -241 Hp sedangkan pada jalur petruk ke KP L udongan 96 m - 130 m dengan daya 186 -272 Hp.
