Abstract

The objective of Ihis research was to find out the effect of empty fruit bunch compost as used as plant medium on the seeding of rubber clone PB 260 in polybeg. The research has been conducted at Lubuklinggau from April to July 2007. Research was arranged in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five treatments and five block. There were ten budded stumps in each unit. The treatment which was containt the level of empty fruit bunch compost of Ko (Control, without compost), Ki (25 % compost), K2 (50 % compost), K3 (75 % compost) and K4 (100 % compost). The parameters observed was the length of seion outbreak (day), growth percentage (%), number of leaf (sheet), high of shoot (cm), shoot diameters (mm), length of lateral root of zona I, zona II and zona III, the dry weight of root of zona I, zona II and zona III, and also dry weight of shoot. The result of this research showed that the empty fruit bunch compost gave some effect to the time seion outbreak (day), number of leaf (sheet), high of shoot (cm), shoot diameters (mm), length of lateral root on zona II and zona III, the dry weight of root on zona II and zona III, and also dry weight of shoot on the growth of rubber. Compost mixing 50 % (K2) gave the highest effect to the amount parameter of number of leaf (45.80 sheet), high of shoot (23,90 cm), shoot diameters (5.26 mm), length of lateral root on zona III (28.43 cm), the dry weighl of root on zona II (0.69 g), and also dry weight of shoot (5.89 g).
