Abstract
The amphibious house is a form of adaptation to the sudden floods. The amphibious house system is designed can be stable both on dry land or during floods. An amphibious house to be a solution in the face of flooding problems, especially in the city of Palembang in Ilir Barat I, Kemuning and Plaju District. This study aims to physically model a two-story amphibious house with type 72 on a laboratory scale. The use of cylindrical plastic bottles can be used as an amphibious house pontoons. In addition, the calculation of buoyancy and height of the draft of the pontoons for each load variation. The social and economic feasibility of amphibious homes is also noted. The results of this study indicate the greater load variation of the amphibious house, the larger of buoyancy and height of the draft. Maximum draft height is 6 cm, maximum theoretical draft height is 4.62 cm, maximum buoyancy force is 108,08 N with amphibious house load that is 104,12 N. The feasibility of amphibious house based on questionnaires from 37 respondents (61.667%) are interested to build amphibious houses and 36 respondents (60%) answered want to buy amphibious house, and 22 respondents (36.667%) responded to the expected price range of amphibious houses of Rp150.000.000, - up to Rp300.000.000, -, where it is similar to the calculated from RAB. The weight of a real amphibious house structure of 307555,8695 N.
