Abstract
The aim of this research was to know the influence of cogon grass extract (Imperata cylindrica L.) and bittervine (Mikania micrantha L.) on weeds growth in rubber plantation. The research was conducted in plantation experimental field of Agricultural Faculty of Sriwijaya University in Gelumbang village, Muara Enim ffom September to Desember 2006. The method used in this research was Randomised Complete Block design with nine treatments and three replications, so there were 27 unit of treatments. The treatments were A (without control), B (glyphosate 4,5 per ha), C (extract of cogon grass rhizome 1 kg per 1 litre water), D (extract of cogon grass leafs 1 kg per 1 litre of water), E (extract of bittervine glade 1 kg per 1 litre water), F (extract of bittervine leafs 1 kg per 1 litre water), G (extract of cogon grass rhizome + bittervine glade 2 kg per 2 litre water), H (extract of cogon grass leafs + bittervine leafs 2 kg per 2 litre water), I (all of extract cogon grass + bittervine 2 kg per 2 litre water). The result showed that treatments of glyphosate can repressed weeds growth.The G (extract of cogon grass rhizome + bittervine glade 2 kg per 2 litre water) treatment was the best of weeds extract. The dominant weeds before and after research was Brachiciria mutica Forsk, SDR 53,4 % ad 72,60 %. The extract weed treatments had no respon to rubber grith increment and latex production per tree.
