Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Kekerasan Simbolik dalam Humor Seksis pada Mahasiswi FISIP Universitas Sriwijaya. Kekerasan simbolik merupakan kekerasan yang terjadi secara halus melalui simbol-simbol. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami faktor penyebab terjadinya humor seksis dan untuk mengetahui bentuk-bentuk humor seksis yang dialami oleh mahasiswi FISIP Universitas Sriwijaya. Metode dalam penelitian adalah fenomenologi dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data disajikan mengacu pada Teori Kekerasan Simbolik Pierre Bourdieu untuk melihat realitas kekerasan simbolik dalam humor seksis pada mahasiswi FISIP Universitas Sriwijaya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 4 faktor penyebab terjadinya kekerasan simbolik dalam humor seksis diantaranya 1)Adanya anggapan bahwa humor seksis merupakan suatu hal yang biasa dan wajar, 2)Sebagai motivasi atau saran agar korban merawat dan memperbaiki diri, 3)Budaya patriarki, dan 4)Adanya stereotip gender. Sedangkan adapun bentuk-bentuk humor seksis yang dialami oleh mahasiswi FISIP Universitas Sriwijayaa berupa 1)Humor seksis pada bentuk dan ukuran tubuh, 2)Humor seksis pada area wajah, 3)Humor seksis pada warna kulit, dan 4)Humor seksis pada kulit yang berambut atau berbulu.
