Abstract

The objective of research was to find out the best dosage bokashi of water hyacinth on growth of oil palm at main nursery. This research was conducted on July to October 2006 at Experimental Farm of Agriculture Faculty of Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. Method of the research was Randomized Block Design that consists of seven treatments and four blocks, therefore it has 28 plots of treatment (each plot has three plants). The treatments were control (without bokashi and NPKMg), coumpound fertilizer of 55 g NPKMg (15:15:6:4) per plant and bokashi of water hyacinth dosages 450 g per plant, 700 g per plant, 950 g per plant, 1,200 g per plant, 1,450 g per plant. The result that growth of oil palm for plant height, leaves amount, stem diameter and total of leaves area became better on the treatment bokashi of water hyacinth since the dosage 950 g per plant. The treatment bokashi of water hyacinth for 1,450 g per plant could substituted coumpound fertilizer of 55 g NPKMg (15:15:6:4) per plant that gave the best growth of oil palm along five months at main nursery.
