Abstract

THIS RESEARCH WILL EXPLAIN THE INCREASE IN RELIGIOUS-BASED CONFLICTS THAT OCCURRED DURING THE ERA OF THE NARENDRA MODI GOVERNMENT WITH SEVERAL EXAMPLES OF CONFLICTS THAT OCCURRED DURING THE MODI LEADERSHIP PERIOD AS A REFERENCE FOR THE INCREASE. THEN THIS RESEARCH AIMS TO FIND OUT THE CAUSES OF INTER-RELIGIOUS CONFLICT IN INDIA AND EXPLAIN WHAT FACTORS INFLUENCE THE INCREASE IN RELIGIOUS-BASED CONFLICT DURING THE NARENDRA MODI ERA. THIS RESEARCH USES MICHAEL E. BROWN'S INTERNAL CAUSES OF CONFLICT AS A FOUNDATION. THE RESEARCH METHOD USED IS THROUGH A DESCRIPTIVE QUALITATIVE APPROACH WITH DATA SOURCES, NAMELY SECONDARY DATA. THE DATA COLLECTION TECHNIQUE USED IS THROUGH RELEVANT LITERATURE STUDIES SUCH AS SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS, BOOKS, NEWS AND WEBSITES. THE RESULTS OF THIS STUDY INDICATE THAT THERE ARE MANY CAUSES OF INCREASED RELIGIOUS CONFLICT IN INDIA IN TERMS OF ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, CULTURAL AND POLITICAL ASPECTS. WHETHER IT IS DUE TO DISCRIMINATORY GOVERNMENT POLICIES, THE GAP BETWEEN MUSLIMS AND HINDUS AND THE TROUBLED HISTORY BETWEEN MUSLIMS AND HINDUS.
