Abstract

PT. Muara Alam Sejahtera is a company which engaged in the coal mining industry that its activity using open pit mining system. Puddles on the mining front will be potentially formed because mine condition that forms downward basin. Meanwhile, based on a three-year mining plan until 2016, the company will expand the working surface and deepen the pit bottom elevation from 20 m dpll to 0 m dpi will continue to increase until -60 m dpi in the end of mining. Therefore it is needed a management for water that have entered the mine by using mine dewatering sumps and pumps by analyzing the total of water that enters the mine based on the mining plan in 2016 to the capacities of 200 -5Hx DnD pump. The goal is, so the water is pumped out of the mine can dry out the working surface of mine and prevent the production plan obstacles due to waterlogging. The result of this analysis is the maximum of water discharge until the period of mine life lasts is 343,621.08 m3/month. If the rain water discharge plan is -6192 m3/h and the average rainfall 3.28 hours/day, so the duration of the sump with volume is 200,455.86 m3 can be fulled up to 8 days. The use of DnD pump 200 - 5HX to drain water in sump out of mine requires 24 days/month as maximum pumping duration if the pump works for 18 hours /day with output 828 m3 / h, total head 107.04 m, and pump power 407.62 kW. In conclusion, the mining plan of PT Muara Alam Sejahtera until 2016 will not be hampered by mine water if 200-5Hx DnD optimally.
