Abstract

The problem that occurred in this research was that there were students who were addicted to social media. The guidance and counseling teacher at SMA Xaverius 4 Palembang had never provided social media addiction prevention services using media, especially animated video media. This research aims to produce a product in the form of animated video media in group guidance services as a valid and practical prevention of social media addiction. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) which uses the ADDIE development model. The implementation of this media was carried out in three stages, namely individual trials (one-to-one), small group trials, and field trials. The conclusions obtained are: (1) The animated video media product in group guidance services as a prevention of social media addiction has been declared valid and practical for use as a learning medium based on validation results from content experts in the valid category, Media experts in the valid category, Audio experts in the valid category valid. Individual trials by 4 students in classes X and XI obtained an average rating of 88% in the very practical category. Small group trials by 5 students from classes X and XI received an assessment of 92.4% in the very practical category. Meanwhile, field trials by 8 students from classes.
