Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan numerasi siswa kelas VII pada pembelajaran aljabar menggunakan pendekatan PMRI dengan konteks Taman Wisata Alam Punti Kayu di SMP Negeri 26 Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII.8 SMP Negeri 26 Palembang yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, tes tertulis, dan wawancara. Tes tertulis terdiri dari dua soal materi aljabar dengan menggunakan konteks Taman Wisata Alam Punti Kayu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan, pada indikator kemampuan numerasi terdapat 74,1% siswa mampu menggunakan berbagai macam angka dan simbol yang terkait dengan matematika dalam berbagai macam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari, sebanyak 61,2% siswa mampu menganalisis informasi yang ditampilkan dalam berbagai bentuk (grafik, tabel, bagan dan sebagainya), dan 51,6% siswa mampu menafsirkan hasil analisis tersebut untuk memprediksi dan mengambil keputusan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan siswa kelas VII.8 SMP Negeri 26 Palembang memiliki kemampuan numerasi yang cukup baik dalam menyelesaikan soal tes pada materi aljabar menggunakan pendekatan PMRI dengan konteks Taman Wisata Alam Punti Kayu.
