Abstract

CO2 yang tidak termanfaatkan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menguraikan karbonat pada temperatur rendah melalui efek medan magnet sehingga dapat mengurangi emisi gas CO2 di udara. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi parameter optimal yang diperlukan dalam reaksi disosiasi karbonat dengan mempertimbangkan volume, temperatur, arus listrik, dan tekanan. Pengujian dilakukan dengan memonitor perubahan tekanan dan berat per jam sebelum dan sesudah injeksi CO2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter disosiasi karbonat yang optimal adalah volume 50 ml, berat 50,01 g, arus listrik 15 A, dan temperatur 90oC dengan tekanan masuk 30 psi. Pemanfaatan medan magnet dengan kekuatan 9 - 10 T menghasilkan pengurangan berat sebesar 8,3 g. Reaksi disosiasi karbonat di bawah pengaruh medan magnet menurunkan kadar unsur C (8%) dan O (4%) dan meningkatkan kadar unsur Ca (31%). CO2 secara efektif dapat menginduksi disosiasi karbonat ketika berada dalam medan magnet.
