Abstract

JEYSICA KIRANA. Water Availability In Firdaus Park For Ecotourism (Supervised by M. Edi Armanto). Firdaus Park is located at Sriwijaya University. Taman Firdaus has a lake and fruit plantations which can be used as tourist attractions because of its strategic and spacious location. The lake in Firdaus Park is one of the water resources used by farmers around Firdaus Park. Efforts to utilize Taman Firdaus must consider the environmental aspects and potential that exist at the location. The aim of this research is to determine the suitability of Taman Firdaus Lake tourism by looking at the water depth and water availability in Taman Firdaus for ecotourism. This research was carried out from September to October 2023. The method used in this research was a survey method with direct field observation. The area of the research area located in Taman Firdaus is 6 Ha by taking 2 soil samples at a depth of 0-30 cm totaling 1 kg to analyze the physical properties in the laboratory, in the field checking the pH of the water, the color of the water, the depth of the water, the smell of the water, the speed of the current , and lake water level measurements. The results of this research show that rainfall greatly influences water availability in Taman Firdaus. The water depth in Taman Firdaus Lake is in the range of 0.6 – 1 meter so that the location of Taman Firdaus Lake can be categorized as suitable or suitable for ecotourism.
