Abstract

This study is entitled Asongan Traders' Social Network in Pasar 16 Ilir, Palembang City. The problem in this study is what is the basis for the formation of a social network of hawkers in Palembang's 16 Ilir Market and the types of social networks built by hawkers in Palembang's 16 Ilir Market. This research is a descriptive qualitative study with a unit of analysis of hawkers, and the community as agents and consumers. The location of this research is Pasar 16 Ilir, Palembang City. selection of informants using purposive techniques. Data collection was obtained from in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, with condensation data analysis techniques, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this study include the bond between fellow hawkers, hawkers with agents and hawkers with consumers while the type of social networks that exist in hawkers in Pasar 16 Ilir, Palembang.
