Abstract

Podcast is an audio medium. Podcast comes from the words "iPod" and "broadcast" where this term was first used by a BBC columnist and journalist named Ben Hammersley where he created this term in early February 2004. Podcast is similar to radio, the difference is in the location of its manufacture. Podcast is audio that is recorded so that it can be heard anytime and practically, while radio is a live broadcast where the broadcast has a schedule. The practicality of podcasts is an advantage that can be used as a listening teaching medium. The purpose of this study is to find out the perceptions of students on the use of podcasts in listening lessons. This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods in which the instruments to be used are surveys and interviews.
