Abstract

The purpose of the research carried out by researchers is to develop a textbook for basic CAD courses in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program. The method used in this research is the research and development (R&D) method using a textbook development model with a 4D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate) approach. This textbook is designed to increase students' understanding of the basic concepts of using the Autodesk Inventor application, encourage basic skills in using the Autodesk Inventor application software and encourage students' enthusiasm for literacy. The results obtained from this research are that the textbooks that have been created are valid and categorized as practical, with scores from the material expert validation team obtaining a mean assessment of 3.92 in the valid category, and the validation results from media experts obtained an average assessment of 4.21 in the very valid category. Apart from that, the results of one to one, small group and field tests stated that the book was categorized as very practical.
