Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of various doses of rice husk charcoal and NPK fertilizer on the seeding results of chili plants (Capsicum frutescens L.) of the bara variety. The research was carried out on Jl. Alamsyah Ratu Prawiranegara No.55, Bukit Baru, Kec. Ilir Bar. I, Palembang City, South Sumatra 30138. The research implementation period started from August to September 2023. The research method used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD F) consisting of 2 treatment factors. The first factor use the soil sowing media and rice husk charcoal (S) consisting of 3 levels, namely S0 = 1:0, S1 = 1:1, S2 = 1:2 and the second factor is the dose of NPK fertilizer (P) which consists of 3 levels (coking with a concentration of 20 ml/chili plant seeds) also consists of 3 levels, namely P1 = 900% water, P2 = 1.800% water, P3 = 2.700% water. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, so there were 27 experimental units, in each experimental unit 5 bowl were observed and in each box there was 1 chili plant seed. In this study, the parameters observed consisted of plant height, number of leaves, root length, leaf fresh weight, stem fresh weight, root fresh weight, leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, and root dry weight. The results of this research show that treatment using a mixture of soil + rice husk charcoal 1:1 and NPK fertilizer 2.700% water gave good results for the growth of cayenne pepper plants.
