Abstract

ATIK PRASTIKASARI, Analysis of Labor Allocation and Household Expenses of Independent Palm Oil Farmers Due to Changes in FFB Price in Jajaran Baru Village, Megang Sakti Sub-District, Musi Rawas District (Supervised by LIFIANTI). Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) cultivation is carried out in Indonesia and is one of the plantation sectors that supports the lives of farmers. Independent oil palm smallholders are farmers who cultivate independently and are not tied to any company. One of the areas where independent oil palm farming is carried out is in the Banjar Baru Village area. The purpose of this study is to determine the income of independent oil palm smallholders, identify the allocation of labor for oil palm smallholders and calculate the total expenditure of independent smallholder oil palm households.This research has been carried out in the Village of Jajaran Baru, Megang Sakti District, Musi Rawas Regency. The choice of location for this research was purposive with the consideration that the village of Jajaran Baru is one of the villages whose inhabitants have independent oil palm plantations. The data collection for this research will be carried out in March-April 2023. The method used is the survey method by distributing questionnaires which will be filled out during interviews.The study revealed that the average allocation of labor for self- help palm oil workers in Jajaran Baru Village experienced a change following the variation in FFB prices, shifting from 298.81 HOK to 128.10 HOK before the change. Moreover, the average income of independent oil palm farmers in Bakongan District significantly changed from Rp 23,881,173 per cultivated area every 6 months to Rp 7,665,148 post-price adjustment. This difference accounts for Rp 16,216,025. On average, the analysis showed that the total household expenditure for independent oil palm farmers decreased from Rp 3,935,400 to Rp 3,637,093 after the FFB price reduction. The study concludes that fluctuations in FFB prices impact the income, labor allocation, and household expenditures of independent oil palm farmers in Jajaran Baru Village..
