Abstract

Mining haul road deterioration can be one of obstacles to hauling unit (HD 785). It can make the speed of hauling unit go down. Then it will influence to how long the cycle time of every operating hauling unit. If it so, then the productivity of hauling unit will have a tendency to decrease. This research is done by processing data from the result of laboratory test and measuring haul road geometry in the field. The tests are to know physical and mechanical properties of soil. The tests done are sieving test, liquid limit and plastic limit test (Atterberg’s Limit), specific gravity test, soil density test, water content test, slake durability test, modified proctor test, and CBR test. Meanwhile, the measuring of haul road geometry, Boa road, is done with ruler and Digital Waterpass. The result of this research shows that, mechanically, the soils tested on Subgrade layer can hold the tyre pressure of HD 785 (Ground Pressure). However, the value of bearing capacity is critical. The bearing capacity values 118,5 lb/in2 and the ground pressure is 116,7 lb/in2. Means, it is needed to do haul road reparation so that the compaction and and bearing capacity increase significantly. This reparation can be minimizing the obstacle time caused by the unstable haul road condition. The result of processing data by using software SPSS verse 23 shows that there is a significant influence between compaction parameters and bearing capacity to HD 785’s velocity. The value is 94,4%. Meanwhile, the other 5,6% is other variables that is still needed to be researched.
