Abstract

Sexual violence appears in the media like two blades, on the one hand, the news regarding sexual violence is intended to provide a deterrent effect for the perpetrator, but on the other hand, the depiction of sexual violence news in the media makes the victim of sexual violence a victim for the second time when it is reported in the media. This research is to find out how the online media Detik.com, Kompas.com and Republika.co.id frame the news about the sexual harassment of motivational speaker Julianto Eka Putra against female students at Selamat Pagi Indonesia High School, Batu City, Malang. This research uses a framing analysis method, with Entman's framing theory approach which is included in the constructionist paradigm. Detik.com which is a national media that is widely known to the public. The reality of the news regarding Julianto Eka Putra's sexual violence against female students at SPI High School which was formed by Detik.com. In this report, Detik.com media positions itself on the side of the public by providing news that is based on public assumptions and solutions that are given for the purpose of satisfying opinions. public. Then, Kompas.com aims to attract visitor interest by providing news headlines that criticize the authorities and the defendant, but the content of the news provides an explanation from the authorities about the course of this case. Meanwhile, Republika.co.id seems to support the defendant and the articles of the law regarding punishment for sexual violence, which in its reporting provides many explanations of procedures and sanctions for sexual violence for economic exploitation of minors against female SPI high school students.
