Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian adalah mendapatkan periode pemanasan dan frekuensi aerasi terbaik terhadap viabilitas pada benih kelapa sawit. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dilaksanakan pada Desember 2008 sampai Maret 2009 di Laboratorium Fisiologi Tumbuhan Jurusan Budidaya Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor perlakuan yaitu faktor I (periode pemanasan) dan faktor ke II ( periode frekuensi aerasi) dengan tiga kali ulangan. Setiap unit percobaan terdiri 130 butir benih dalam plastik polyethylen. Faktor pertama, taraf pemanasan yaitu K1 (40 hari), K2 (50 hari), K3 (60 hari). Dan faktor kedua, frekuensi aerasi terdiri dari dua taraf, yaitu F1 (7 hari sekali), F2 (10 hari sekali). Effek nyata dari perlakuan berdasarkan uji F adalah interaksi kedua faktor berdasarkan uji lanjut BNT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan periode selama 50 hari dengan aerasi sepuluh hari sekali didapatkan persentase Daya Berkecambah yang tertinggi yaitu 70%, dengan nilai Potensi Tumbuh Maksimumnya sebesar 83.33 %. pemanasan
