Abstract

The aim of this research was intended to know the growth and the yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) on the giving Calcium at water stress condition. The research was done in green house, Agriculture faculty University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya started from June 2008 until to August 2008. The method of this research was used Completely Randomized Design, consisted of two factors with ten replicates. The first factor is water with two levels, 800 ml and 400 ml, and the second factor is Calcium, with four levels there are 1,5 mM; 2,0 mM; 2,5 mM and 3,0 mM, there are 8 units treatments with ten replicates, each treatment consisted of one plant, so the total was 80 plants. The result showed that there were no interaction between Calcium treatment and water for all parameters. The Calcium treatment did not give any effect on growth and yield of cucumber. Calcium 2,0 mM gave highest fruit weight the result was 522,15 g per plant. The water effected on parameter number of fruit, fruit total, fruit weight, total harvest, total ffesh weight, and total dried weight. The 800 ml waters gave highest was 590,02 g per plant fruit weight.
