Abstract

The research was conducted at Seed Processing Unit (SPU) PT. Sampoema Agro Tbk, from November 2008 until May 2009. The objective was evaluate storability of oil plam seeds at 18-20°C following heat treatment course. The research was arranged in factorial completely randomized design with two factors. First factor was course of heat treantment for, 40 days, 50 days, and 60 days. Second factor was storability periods consisted of; 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, and 56 days. Result indicated that the two factors were highly significant effects to potential growth maximum and dormancy intensity. However not significant, they were germination and grow rate. Heating seed for 60 days and storage for 42 days resulted to higher germinate of 87%. Growth rate of 54%, potential growth maximum of 59%, and dormancy intensity of 4%.
