Abstract
Dysmenorrhea is one of the issues that women may experience throughout their menstruation. Dysmenorrhea can produce pain that can make the quality of learning at school not optimal and can affect their quality of life. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how the quality of life of teenage girls enrolled in SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya is related to the incidence of dysmenorrhea. This research used a cross-sectional design and is analytically observational. This study's sample size was 100. The present investigation employs univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses. Results revealed that there were 58% of adolescent girls had a poor quality of life, 35% of adolescents experienced the incidence of dysmenorrhea, and 91,4% of adolescent girls with dysmenorrhea had a poor quality of life. Outcomes of statistical tests show that the incidence of dysmenorrhea (p-value = <0,0001) also stress levels (p-value = 0,008) are associated with quality of life in adolescent girls. Adolescent girls who experience dysmenorrhea have a 19,080 times higher risk of having poor quality of life after controlling for age at menarche, nutritional status, and stress level (95% CI = 4,329 – 84,091). As per this research, the quality of life of adolescent girls at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya is significantly relationship to the occurrence of dysmenorrhea. Adolescent girls should be advised to focus more on their bodies and regulate their diet to achieve ideal weight and manage stress well so that they can lower the possibility of dysmenorrhea and increase their quality of life.
