Abstract

Work posture is one of the ergonomic risks that need to considered by company. Work posture is the position of the worker's body when doing task. If workers in the wrong working posture, they are at risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). Likewise for physical check work. Physical check officers have risky work postures because when working, officers are faced with various work postures that are quite long and repetitive. This complaint can cause injury, disability and even death. The purpose of this research is to analyze the work posture of vehicle physical check officers using the Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS) method at the Palembang City Samsat Office. The research design is descriptive research with qualitative approach using OWAS. Informants in this research are 10 people which 2 people as key informants and 8 people as supporting informants. The research results showed that as many as 5 work postures received a score of 2 (medium), 2 work postures got a score of 3(high), then, 2 other work postures received a score of 4(very high), namely swiping the motorbike engine number and swiping the car frame number. The level of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) complaints among physical check officers was at a moderate-severe level. The highest MSDs complaints among physical check officers were in the waist and back (100%). The conclusion of this research is there were 9 awkaward work postures in physical check officers with moderate-severe levels of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) complaints. It,s also recommended for physical check officer to able to replace and update the facilities used by workers such as hydraulic car lift, long wood, flashlight, tables, and chair.
