Abstract

This aim of this research was get to determine the optimum dose of NPK compound fertilizer and plant spacing of green bean. The research was conducted at Farm Faculty of Agriculture, Ogan Ilir regency, South Sumatra, ffom July 2009 until September 2009. This research used randomized block design (RBD) compiled by two factors. The first factor was do'se of NPK, Control, 100 kg ha1, 200 kg ha*1, 300 kg ha-1, and the second factor was the plant spacing that was, 20 x 20 cm, 20 x 25 cm, 20 x 30 cm, 20 x 35 cm, all treatment was repeated three times so that there are 48 treatment units. The results showed that doses of compound fertilizer and different plant spacing did not significantly affect the plant height, biomass, number of productive branches, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, dry weight of seeds per plant, 100 seed weight, seed weight per plot. Compound fertilizer and plant spacing has not been able to increase growth and yield of green bean and there is no interaction between fertilizer and plant spacing.
