Abstract

The research was conducted in August 2010 to February 2011 in the garden farmer Sukasari Village, Talang Kelapa district, the Palembang city, South Sumatra. This study using Factorially of Random Blok design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor is the dose of compost oil palm empty fruit bunch with five level of treatments and the second factor is the blank spacings of the four level. The first factor (P) dose of compost oil palm empty fruit bunchy: P0: 0 (control), Pl: 5 tons ha-1, P2: 10 tons ha-1, P3: 15 tons ha-1, and P4: 20 tons ha-1. The second factor (J) blank spacings: Jl: 1 x 1 m, J2: 1 x 1.5 m, J3: 1 x 2 m, and J4: 2 x 2 m. The results of this study indicate that the treatment dose of compost is most significanly for plant height, and girth, and significanly for leaf ffesh weight, but did not significanly affect other variables. The treatment plant spacing is most sigmficantly for plant height and number of leaves, and no significan to other variables. The interaction between dose of compost with the planting distance is most significanly for the girth, significan affect to plant height, and no significanly on other variables
