Abstract

Occupational diseases can be caused by ergonomic factors. A number of epidemiological studies show that among computer and smartphone users, the prevalence of MSDs symptoms such as neck pain is increasing. Canadian studies report an average prevalence of 46%-52% of shoulder symptoms and 68% of neck symptoms. There are many complaints about ergonomic working positions in offices, including headaches, sore eyes and dry eyes, stiffness or soreness in the neck, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is characterized by lower back and waist pain (low back pain). This research aims to analyze work posture and work duration in office workers using the Rapid Office Strain Assessment method in the Lahat Command Center Room at PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Lahat. The research design in this study was descriptive observational with a case study design and the total object of this research was 8 workers in the Lahat Command Center Room at PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Lahat. The object selection technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique because the population in this study was homogeneous but adjusted to the required sample criteria, namely PT Command Center Lahat Room workers. PLN (Persero) UP3 Lahat works 8 hours a day, is of productive age, has at least 2 years of work experience, and uses a computer when working. The risk analysis method used is the Rapid Office Strain Assessment ergonomic risk analysis method. The results of calculating the level of ergonomic risk using the Rapid Office Strain Assessment method for 8 office worker informants, all informants got a score of > 5 so they were at the Dangerous level. Results of calculating the level of ergonomic risk using the Rapid Office Strain Assessment method for 8 workers. It is recommended that office workers change their awkward working posture habits and adapt them to a neutral working posture. It is also recommended that office workers replace and update the facilities used by workers such as tables, chairs, monitors, telephones, mice and keyboards.
