Abstract

As a country that has abundant natural resources, Indonesia is a target for entrepreneurs to invest and establish mining companies. Indonesia is one of the largest coal producing countries in the world with known coal reserves until 2021 based on BP Statistical Review data reaching 38.84 billion tons and spread throughout Indonesia. With such reserves, according to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, in 2021 Indonesia produced 614 million tons of coal, and experienced an increase in production in 2022 by 12% to 687 million tons. Economic value is an investment expressed in the form of monetary value which will be used as material for preparing cash flow (cash flow) consisting of total investment (fixed capital and working capital), income, operating costs, depreciation, royalties, taxes and related costs other. PT ABC, which is one of the coal mining companies in South Sumatra, made changes to its SKT in order to renew its permit. The company is planning several changes, namely production capacity from an average of 5.6 million tons/year to 3.3 million tons/year so that adjustments are needed to the mining plan, hauling road construction plans, river diversions, and optimization of mining plans. In changing this mining plan, PT ABC carried out a reinvestment feasibility analysis and came to the conclusion that the mining plan change was still feasible, while the investment criteria resulted in a net present value (NPV) of IDR 1.216.022.592.487, an internal rate of return (IRR) of IDR 67,07%, and payback period (PBP) of 1,98 years. Based on sensitivity to coal selling prices, the company will still make a profit as long as the price decline does not reach -15.96%.
