Abstract
Eucheuma spinosum is one type of seaweed that has important economic value as an alternative commodity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the efficiency of ZPT Formulation, calculate the percentage of living callus explants, and analyze the callus structure in the callus induction process of E. spinosum. This research was conducted from August to Desember 2023 using experimental and descriptive methods. The concentration of growth regulatots used were A (IAA 0,4 mg/l + Kinetin 1 mg/l), B (IAA 1 mg/l + Kinetin 1 mg/l), C (2,4-D 3 mg/l + Kinetin 1 mg/l) and D (No ZPT). The results showed that treatment C (2,4-D 3 mg/l + Kinetin 1 mg/l) had the highest percentage of live callus explants with a value 67 ± 33,3%. The structure and color of the callus has compact structure (non friable) with the characteristics of densely arranged cells, relatively whitish color with smooth surface.
