Abstract

Anime merupakan karya dua dimensi berupa animasi atau kartun yang dibuat oleh perusahaan animasi Jepang. Anime buatan studio animasi Ghibli menjadi salah satu dari sekian banyak studio animasi ternama Jepang yang sukses dalam menciptakan anime yang mampu menembus pasar global. Popularitas mereka dikenal masyarakat Jepang secara luas dan populer sampai ke Indonesia, anime berhasil menjadi budaya populer Jepang yang tetap eksis sampai saat ini hingga mampu memberikan keuntungan dan berkontribusi bagi Jepang. Karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan guna untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana bentuk penyebaran budaya Jepang melalui anime seperti pada karya Studio Ghibli di Indonesia dan kepentingannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan konsep soft power dan soft diplomacy oleh Joseph Nye (2008). Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan data sekunder dan menggunakan teknik keabsahan data berupa triangulasi data yang terdisi atas uji credibility, uji dependability, dan uji confirmability. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat beberapa elemen atau dimensi antara lain Nilai Domestik (Domestic Value), Budaya (Cultures), dan Kebijakan Luar Negeri (Foreign Policies), ini dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya jumlah wisatawan Indonesia di Jepang, dan bagaimana persentase masyarakat Indonesia yang menyukai Jepang sebagai sebuah negara. Hal tersebut menjadi alasan mengapa anime Studio Ghibli dapat menjadi suatu strategi soft power yang cukup berhasil di Indonesia Anime is a two-dimensional work in the form of animation or cartoon created by a Japanese animation company. Anime by the Ghibli animation studio is one of the many well-known Japanese animation studios that have succeeded in making anime that can penetrate the global market. Their popularity is widely known to the Japanese public and is popular in Indonesia. Anime has succeeded in becoming Japanese popular culture which still exists today and is able to provide benefits and contribute to Japan. Therefore, this research was carried out in order to find out and describe how Japanese culture spread through anime such as the works of Studio Ghibli in Indonesia and its importance. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research design with the concepts of soft power and soft diplomacy by Joseph Nye (2008). Data collection was carried out using secondary data and using data validity techniques in the form of data triangulation consisting of credibility tests, dependability tests and confirmability tests. The research results show that there are several elements or dimensions, including Domestic Value, Culture, and Foreign Policies, which are the reasons why Studio Ghibli anime can be a quite successful soft power strategy in Indonesia.
